Dr. William F. “Bill” Taylor was honored this past weekend at the Rotary District 6760 Annual Conference with the “Service Above Self” award by Rotary International. Bill received this award for his 18 years of leading the Hendersonville Rotary Club in its Guatemala Medical Mission Trip. The yearly medical mission trip has provided much needed medical care to thousands of Guatemala’s poorest citizens.
To show the significance of this presentation, the “Service Above Self” award is presented annually to only 150 Rotarians from some 1.2 million Rotarians throughout the entire world. Dr. Taylor is in good company, as he joins Hendersonville Rotary’s Kim Kim as having previously received this prestigious award for his efforts with Shelter Box.
