Memorial Park

MEMORIAL PARK PLAZA

The Rotary Club of Hendersonville, along with the Hendersonville Lakeside Rotary Club and the local high school Interact Clubs, initiated the renovation of Memorial Park in Hendersonville as a Centennial Project in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Rotary International in 2005. The $200,000 project resulted in substantial improvement to the park located on the banks of scenic  Old Hickory Lake. A beautiful fountain was installed surrounded by a Ring of Honor and a Memorial Walkway with new landscaping and flanked by our local, state, and American flags. In 2013,  five additional flag poles were installed–one for each branch of the Armed Forces.

The Memorial Park Plaza Projects have been supported by the City Board of Mayor and Alderman, City Parks Board, Police Department, Fire Department, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Brick Pavers can be purchased and installed in the Ring of Honor to honor and/or memorialize those who have truly lived the Rotary Motto, “Service above Self” such as Military Veterans, Police Officers, and Firemen. Also, other individuals and loved ones can be memorialized by a Paver placed in the Memorial Walkway. If you have questions or wish to purchase a Paver, please call Larry Lyons at 615-509-5323.
